Seyoung Han, MD

Seyoung Han, MD, is a fellowship-trained hematologist/oncologist with Advanced Care Oncology and Hematology (ACOHA), part of Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he has comprehensive experience and specialized training in treating blood diseases and various forms of cancer. Dr. Han’s clinical interests include lung, breast, GI, and hematologic cancers. He also participates in clinical trials as a principal investigator.

Dr. Han meticulously analyzes each patient’s test results, takes detailed notes on their medical history, and performs thorough physical examinations in order to determine the most appropriate treatment options for each of his patients. He values informed decision-making to help patients maintain their quality of life. He provides patient-centered compassionate care and ensures that his patients have a full understanding of their condition and provides evidence-based treatment options.

After earning his medical degree at Kyung Hee University College of Medicine in South Korea, and a compulsory three-year hitch in military service, Dr. Han performed an internal medicine residency at Saint Francis Hospital, now called Ascension Saint Francis Hospital, in Evanston, IL. After completing his residency, he served as an assistant professor and an attending physician at Southern Illinois University, then joined the bone marrow transplant program as a hospitalist and clinical instructor at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Han then pursued advanced training with a fellowship in hematology-oncology at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He was honored with an award as an outstanding fellow from the Minnesota Society of Oncology for two consecutive years. Following his fellowship, Dr. Han joined ACOHA in 2020.

Fluent in English and Korean, Dr. Han is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American College of Physicians, the Society of Hospital Medicine, and the Korean Medical Association. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
