Shamik Chakraborty, MD

Shamik Chakraborty, MD, is board-certified neurosurgeon serving the communities of Central New Jer spondylolisthesissey. He specializes in neurosurgical treatments of brain and spine injuries, tumors, stroke, as well as spine surgery and neuromodulation for pain. Dr. Chakraborty approaches each patient with a careful assessment of their individual medical history and surgical needs. There is emphasis on holistic and traditional medical approaches and comprehensive treatments prior to any surgery. He also places great emphasis on multidisciplinary post-surgical rehabilitation to properly return patients to their activities.

Dr. Chakraborty earned his medical degree with distinction in clinical neurosciences from State University of New York, Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his residency in Neurological Surgery and fellowship training in Neurosurgical Neuro-Oncology at Northwell Health in Manhasset, New York.

Dr. Chakraborty’s research has focused on neuro-oncology, as well as brain/machine interfacing. He is a recipient of the Healthgrades Neurosciences Excellence Award for superior clinical outcomes in stroke care and cranial neurosurgery.
