Dr. Zulekha Atif is board certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, and is a fellowship-trained endocrinologist with Medical Diagnostic Associates, part of Atlantic Medical Group. She treats hormone-related diseases that commonly affect reproduction, metabolism, growth and food absorption. When treating patients, her goal is to restore hormones to their normal balance to relieve associated symptoms, which can often include insomnia, fatigue and irritable bowel to hair loss, memory loss and depression.
Fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi, and dedicated to improving the lives of her patients and the general community, Dr. Atif has done extensive research on thyroid diseases and global emerging public health problems. She is also an active member in several professional societies including American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, Endocrine Society, American Diabetes Association and American Thyroid Association.
After completing her medical degree at King Edward Medical University in Pakistan, Dr. Atif moved to New York for her residency program at Jamaica Hospital Center. She then pursued an endocrinology fellowship at NYU Winthrop University Hospital.
Dr. Atif is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
