Limb deformities can affect the shape or function of a child’s arms or legs. At Children’s Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center, we help families understand the cause and explore treatment options, including advanced limb lengthening and deformity correction.
Limb deformity is any condition that may impact the form or function of the arms or legs. Limb deformity may be present at birth or may develop during the growing years of childhood.
There are many different problems that may contribute to the deformity or length discrepancy of the arms or legs. We will work with you to diagnose the problem and discuss different treatment options that may work best for you and your child. Sports medicine is the care of the overall athlete. Child and adolescent athletes are different than adults, and are more susceptible to different types of problems. Our pediatric sports medicine division is the medical home for the entire spectrum of young athletes – from high impact contact sports like football and ice hockey, to the very often significantly injured athletes in the field of martial arts, dance and gymnastics.
