Volunteering at Morristown Medical Center

Junior Volunteer Summer Program

The Junior Volunteer Summer Program at Morristown Medical Center will begin on June 24 and end on August 17, 2024. The student must be currently enrolled in high school and at least 15 years old on or before June 1, 2024. The summer service requirement is two 4-hour shifts per week. To be considered for the summer program, the student must commit to the program and serve a minimum of 50 volunteer hours. If the student expects to miss more than two weeks, we ask that they refrain from applying to the program. The Volunteer Services Department will begin to accept applications for the Junior Volunteer Summer Program on April 1, 2024.

Key Dates to Remember

  • May 1, 2024, Submission deadline for the Junior Volunteer Summer Program.
  • May 6, 2024, Volunteers will be notified of acceptance.
  • June 17, 2024, Selected candidates must submit all onboarding prerequisites by this deadline.

Volunteers are a vital part of Morristown Medical Center, helping us enhance the patient experience and provide high-quality care. While this can be rewarding, it also requires a significant time commitment – both in terms of service hours and the training and medical prerequisites that must be met as part of our onboarding process.

If you would like to explore becoming a valued member of the Morristown Medical Center volunteer community, there are two programs available:

Adult Volunteers Program
– More than 400 adult volunteers provide support services throughout our hospital, 365 days a year. We ask for a six-month commitment.
Junior Volunteers Program
– Our junior volunteer program accepts a limited number of qualified applicants. To participate, the high school student must dedicate a certain number of hours each week for at least six months. Most junior volunteer assignments are scheduled for the same day and shift.
