Morristown, N.J., October 22, 2024 – Atlantic Health System medical centers are leaders in New Jersey and across the nation when it comes to delivering high quality care and superior patient outcomes across numerous specialties according to the Healthgrades 2025 Report to the Nation, released today.
Morristown Medical Center is the only hospital in New Jersey to achieve all of the following recognitions in this year’s report: America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care, America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Coronary Intervention, America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Gastrointestinal Care and America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Gastrointestinal Surgery in 2025.
Overlook Medical Center is one of only 7 nationwide and the only hospital in NJ to receive all of the following recognitions in this year’s report: Pulmonary Care Excellence Award™, Gastrointestinal Care Excellence Award™, Gastrointestinal Surgery Excellence Award™, Critical Care Excellence Award™, Stroke Care Excellence Award™, Neurosurgery Excellence Award™, and Neurosciences Excellence Award™ and Surgical Care Excellence Award™.
Atlantic Health’s achievements are based solely on what matters most: patient outcomes. As part of its 2025 hospital assessment, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for over 30 of the most common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide to determine the top performers in specialty care. Additionally, Morristown achieved the Healthgrades Specialty Excellence Award for Gastrointestinal Care for the seventh consecutive year (2019-2025) and Gastrointestinal Surgery for the third consecutive year (2023-2025). New this year, Overlook received the 2025 Outpatient Orthopedic Surgery Excellence Award™ and named among the top 10 percent in the nation for the service.
Since 2019, Healthgrades has recognized Overlook Medical Center among the top five percent of hospitals in the U.S. for excellence in the Treatment of Stroke, Cranial Neurosurgery and Neurosciences more consecutive years (2019-2025) than any other hospital in New Jersey or New York.
