MORRISTOWN/SUMMIT/POMPTON PLAINS/NEWTON, NJ – JANUARY 27, 2026 – Three Atlantic Health medical centers have been named among America’s Best Hospitals for 2026, according to new research released by Healthgrades, a leading resource used by U.S. consumers when searching for a hospital or doctor.
Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center and Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center are once again named among America’s 50 Best Hospitals, and Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center is named among America’s 250 Best Hospitals.

For the third consecutive year, Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center are the only two hospitals in New Jersey named among America’s 50 Best Hospitals in 2026.
This achievement – Healthgrades’ highest honor for clinical excellence – reflects Morristown and Overlook’s exemplary standard of care and places them in the top 1% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance across the most common conditions and procedures.
Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center (located in Summit, NJ) have been included in the 50 Best Hospitals for the eleventh consecutive (2016-2026) and seventh (2020-2026) consecutive year respectively.
This marks Chilton’s fourth consecutive year (2023-2026) among the 250 Best Hospitals, placing it in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance across the most common conditions and procedures.
To determine America’s 50 Best Hospitals for 2026 and America’s 250 Best Hospitals for 2026, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for more than 30 of the most common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide.
