About me

Dr. Sheetal Patel is board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology, and is a practicing physician at the Institute for Rheumatic & Autoimmune Diseases located in Summit, Clark and Martinsville. Dr. Patel completed her rheumatology fellowship from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. There, she had the opportunity to work in various hospital settings, treating a diverse patient population. Dr. Patel believes in advocating for her patients and treating them as a whole. She also takes an interest in functional medicine. Dr. Patel pursued her bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery degree at Pramukh Swami Medical College in Gujarat, India. She completed her internal medicine internship and residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, and also holds a certificate in medical humanities from Drew University in Madison. Her academic background includes awards and recognition for her published work, presentations, abstracts and investigative research. Additionally, she was selected among the best teaching residents by her medical student colleagues each year during her three-year residency. She is fluent in English, Gujarati and Hindi.
