Diagnostic services

At Atlantic Health, we offer state-of-the-art breast imaging. We work intimately with the fellowship-trained breast radiologists to screen patients for breast cancer and to evaluate any abnormalities detected.

Our breast program offers minimally invasive breast biopsies, including:

• Fine needle aspiration
• Stereotactic biopsies (both prone and upright)
• Ultrasound-guided biopsies
• MRI-guided biopsies

Treatment options

We offer the following treatment options for our patients:

• Robust multidisciplinary breast tumor boards attended weekly by every breast specialty where cases are reviewed using current national treatment guidelines
• Breast surgery
  • Breast-conserving surgery, including lumpectomy incorporating oncoplastic techniques. We employ Hidden Scar™ technology and minimally invasive surgery to improve recovery time and enhance cosmetic outcomes
  • Wireless localization procedure using Savi Scout® technology
  • Mastectomy, including nipple-sparing and skin-sparing mastectomy with immediate reconstruction
  • Sentinel lymph node biopsy
• Reconstructive breast surgery
  •  Implant-based reconstruction
  • Autologous tissue reconstruction
    • Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator flap (DIEP)
    • Latissimus Dorsi flap (LD)
    • Transrectus Abdominis Myocutaneous flap (TRAM)
• Endocrine therapy or antihormone therapy
• Chemotherapy
• Immunotherapy
• Radiation therapy, including accelerated breast radiation, partial breast radiation therapy and deep inspiration breath hold technique (DIBH) with surface guided radiation therapy (VisionRT)
• Breast Cancer Second Opinion Program, which offers opinions and consults for rare and complex cases.

Advanced imaging

We offer the latest in breast imaging technology, including 2-D and 3-D digital mammography (tomosynthesis), breast ultrasound and breast MRI. We perform minimally invasive breast biopsies utilizing all imaging modalities. We provide comprehensive treatment for benign and malignant breast disease.

As vital as your medical treatment is, we never forget the importance of being treated with kindness and compassion. We know you have questions, and we are firmly committed to providing the answers you need. We have certified breast nurse navigators who are there to guide you throughout your care.

Our multiple designated breast nurse navigators work closely with our physicians and patients to identify needs and evaluate options – all in a caring and nurturing environment. We offer a wide variety of support groups, integrative medical services, one-on-one counseling support and an array of programs tailored for each stage of treatment and survivorship. 

Our physicians are on staff at Morristown Medical Center, Chilton Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center and are affiliated with Atlantic Medical Group. They are participating providers of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.

We accept most insurances

Atlantic Medical Group accepts most insurance plans, but always check with your insurance company first. If you require a copayment at the time of your visit, we accept cash, checks and most credit cards.

Please note: Procedures done in our office depend on your insurance coverage. Some insurance plans require that you see a specialist. Always be sure to check with your insurance provider.
