Atlantic Health Women's Imaging at Union, formerly Women's Healthcare Imaging, provides the latest in breast, cross-sectional, neuroradiology and muscular-skeletal imaging to a wide range of patients and ultrasound guided and cyst aspiration biopsy with the highest quality and safety. In addition, we offer bone density scans (DXA). Our team includes female technologists who are highly trained, licensed and sensitive to the needs of female patients.

Frequently asked questions

 
  • Bring the prescription from your physician and any insurance information including your referral or pre-certification on the day of your appointment. If you do not bring this information, we will have to reschedule your appointment.
  • Please remember to bring or send any previous test results, films or cd’s.
  • Arrive 15 minutes ahead of time to fill out forms, unless you have already filled them out.
  • We ask many questions about your medical history. This aids the radiologist in making the best diagnosis and determine any health risks.

Preparation depends on the type of exam:

  • No prep needed for most soft tissue, vascular, thyroid, and transvaginal pelvic ultrasounds.
  • Fasting (8–10 hours) is required for abdominal and aortic exams.
  • Full bladder is needed for transabdominal pelvic and obstetric ultrasounds. Drink 32 oz of water 30 minutes before your exam and do not urinate.
