An X-ray is a painless medical test that creates images to show what’s happening inside your body. They are a great tool to help diagnose different conditions — from broken bones to tumors.

What you need to know about X-rays

X-ray results

  • Results are read by radiologists with advanced training
  • Your X-ray images will be reviewed and interpreted
  • We will send a signed report to your primary care physician or the physician who referred you for the exam
  • Results will also appear in MyChart

How to prepare

  • Remove metal items such as jewelry, zippers and buttons
  • Bring your doctor’s order, or confirm the script is in MyChart
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding? Let your care team know
  • Confirm your location when scheduling
