February 28, 2014

Summit, NJ – Atlantic Health Integrative Medicine will introduce a 12-week weight loss program on Wednesday, March 19 and 26 rom 6:30pm to 7:30pm at the Center for Well Being, located at Overlook Downtown, 357 Springfield Avenue, Summit. Giovanni Campanile, MD, medical director, Atlantic Integrative Medicine, will discusses the “TRIM & FIT” Medical Weight Loss Program – a 12-week, medically-supervised therapeutic lifestyle program.

Dr. Campanile uses Functional Medicine, a methodology that addresses underlying causes of disease in the prevention and care of patients. It engages both the patient and the practitioner by looking at each patient as an individual, addressing the “whole person” and not just an isolated set of symptoms.

Dr. Campanile is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He completed his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at Boston University School of Medicine; and his Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He has published scientific papers in major cardiology journals that have advanced our understanding of the effect of high blood pressure on heart health.

New Jersey Monthly magazine named him as one of the “Top Doctors” in the state for several years. He was also the on-call cardiologist to President George H.W. Bush in Kennebunkport, Maine. Dr. Campanile was a researcher for the world-renowned Framingham Heart Study, which has greatly contributed to our current understanding of risk factors in the development of cardiovascular disease and how lifestyle affects one’s health.

Dr. Campanile has been practicing Integrative Medicine for more than 15 years, and was a member of an advisory board at Bastyr University, the nation’s foremost school of naturopathic medicine. He taught nutrition, herbology, and Integrative Medicine at Florida Atlantic University, and is a certified Aromatherapist. For more information, additional lecture dates and locations, and to register, please call 973-971-6301.
