Morristown Medical Center Named a Top Hospital in New Jersey and New York Metro Area by U.S. News & World Report

Atlantic Health System Medical Centers Recognized on National and Regional Levels

August 2, 2016, Morristown, NJ – Morristown Medical Center, part of Atlantic Health System, today announced it has been recognized as a top hospital in New Jersey and the New York Metro area by U.S. News & World Report. The medical center was also recognized as one of the top 50 hospitals in the nation, and highest-ranking hospital in New Jersey, in Cardiology & Heart Surgery and Orthopedics. U.S. News & World Report recognized Overlook Medical Center as a best regional hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery.

Morristown Medical Center was also recognized as a best regional hospital in seven specialties: Gastroenterology & GI surgery, Geriatrics, Gynecology, Nephrology, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Pulmonology, and Urology.These esteemed recognitions were announced today in the publication’s annual Best Hospitals list for 2016-17, which recognizes hospitals that excel in treating the most challenging patients.

Ranking hospitals by both state and metro area, U.S. News recognized hospitals that perform nearly at the level of their nationally ranked peers in one or more specialties, as well as hospitals that excel in multiple common procedures and conditions. For 2016-17, 153 hospitals were ranked in at least one specialty, while 1,628 received a high performing rating in one or more specialties, procedures or conditions. In rankings by state and metro area, U.S. News recognized hospitals that were high-performing across multiple areas of care.
