Social Media Guidelines for Non-Employees

When participating on Atlantic Health System social media pages, please remember that any information you provide is public. Do not disclose personal, medical or financial details in your posts, images or videos. Due to health care industry regulations, Atlantic Health System cannot permit any posts that solicit or offer medical advice. All federal HIPAA rules and regulations, as well as any corresponding state/local rules and regulations, apply to any and all social media engagement. Atlantic Health System employees must adhere to the internal social media policy.

Atlantic Health System regularly monitors all posted content on its official sites and reserves the right to remove any comments, images and videos that are deemed abusive, defamatory, obscene, threatening or otherwise inappropriate. Discussion and dissenting points of view are welcomed, but must be presented in a respectful and courteous manner. Atlantic Health System maintains the rights to reproduce, distribute, publish and display content to these sites. By posting on any of Atlantic Health System’s social media sites, you agree to these terms.

Atlantic Health System reserves the right to remove any posts, graphics, comments, videos, photos, or any other content that:

  • Is libelous, defamatory, or disparaging
  • Violates another’s copyright or other intellectual property rights
  • Condones or promotes illegal activity
  • Is misleading, fraudulent, or deceptive
  • Uses harsh, obscene, hateful, or threatening language
  • Is spam, or intended to cause technical disruptions to this page or Facebook
  • Offers unauthorized advice or tips
  • Is off-topic or excessive
  • Violates the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
