Safe and Attentive Care

Safe and Attentive Care

Extraordinary care has always been our priority — and that has never been more true than now.

The health and safety of our patients and caregivers has always been our top priority. Rest assured we have continued our stringent safety measures and have implemented updated guidelines. We have taken every precaution to lessen the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the care you receive is safe.

It’s important not to delay getting the care you need, as it can worsen symptoms.

Safety Measures at our Hospitals and Doctors' Offices:

Travel Advisory for Patients

To save lives and prevent the spread of COVID-19, please comply with any federal travel advisories.

Patients with scheduled appointments and procedures should consult their doctor about quarantine and testing requirements.

Visitor Restrictions

For the safety and well-being of patients, visitors, support persons and health care professionals, hospital visitors will be required to go through both temperature and symptom screening upon entering the facility.

See our visitor’s policy for restrictions and details >

Social Distancing

Social distancing is observed throughout our hospitals and doctor's offices, except as needed in treatment areas for care delivery.

Team Members are Protected

Team members wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are either fully vaccinated, on pace for full vaccination or have a qualifying exemption.

Temperature Checks

All patients and team members are temperature checked and screened for COVID-19 symptoms prior to entering the hospital or doctor's office.

Express Check In

In many offices and departments, patients can wait in their cars, complete check-in procedures using a cell phone, and are escorted right to the exam room/treatment area when ready. When in-person registration is necessary, the process is kept as short as possible.

Express Check Out

Express checkout is available at most locations.

Patients at our doctor's offices have virtual express check out. There's no need to stop on your way out. An after-visit summary will be sent digitally to your MyChart account.

Clean, Protected Environments

  • All exam rooms and equipment are wiped down and disinfected between each patient.
  • COVID-19 patients are cared for in protected exam rooms and treatment areas.
  • Facemasks must be worn by all patients, care staff and visitors.
  • Hand sanitizer is readily available.

Safety Measures for Scheduled Surgeries and Procedures

Scheduled surgical procedures and other types of care are ongoing in New Jersey. Atlantic Health System continues to provide extraordinary care within a safe environment.

Health care providers will contact patients to guide them on safety, including COVID-19 testing and quarantine before certain procedures.
