Program Objectives

The goal of Morristown Medical Center’s Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship is to introduce students to the clinical practice of emergency medicine which includes both philosophy of emergency medicine and a specific approach to acute illness and injury. By the end of the rotation, students will develop expertise in a wide spectrum of emergency and non-emergency problems, including:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS)
  • Chest pain
  • Dyspnea
  • Emergency medicine
  • Emergency orthopedics
  • Febrile children
  • Headache
  • Lacerations
  • Overdose, coma and altered mental status
  • Pregnancy-related issues
  • Trauma resuscitation
  • Syncope and dizziness
  • Urinary tract infections, vaginitis, sexually transmitted disease (STD)
