Trish O’Keefe, PhD, RN, president of Atlantic Health System’s Morristown Medical Center and Vice President, Atlantic Health System, served as the keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony for the County College of Morris (CCM) on Friday, May 24.

O’Keefe reinforced the importance of her personal values and encouraged the graduates to be resilient. She also shared one of her favorite quotes, “Embrace the uncertainty. When nothing is certain, anything is possible.”

“The day I started at Morristown Medical Center as a bedside nurse, if someone had told me I would become president I would not have believed it – but it only proves that hard work, committing to your goals one step at a time, dedication and very long hours pay off,” she said. “I know life will present each one of you with a series of opportunities, one step at a time. One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself – commit to your journey.”

Under O’Keefe’s leadership, Morristown Medical Center has been named the number one hospital in New Jersey and is nationally recognized in cardiology, orthopedics, critical care, nursing and gastroenterology.
