Wait times represent the average estimated length of time from registration to being assigned a "first provider" (a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant). Times displayed for Atlantic Health Systems are:

  • Reported as an average of wait times for the previous 2 hours of patients that have presented to the emergency department and have been seen by a provider
  • Refreshed at least every 15 minutes

Many circumstances can affect wait times - for example, patients arriving by ambulance or with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Patients with severe conditions will be seen before those with less-serious problems or ailments. These times are provided for informational purposes only and cannot be guaranteed upon arrival.

Behavioral Medicine

Research has shown that there is often a strong relationship between thought process and the ability to cope with physical health problems. At Atlantic Behavioral Health, we believe we can help patients more effectively manage their chronic illness and improve overall well-being.

Our behavioral medicine outpatient programs begin with an initial assessment with a clinician to determine patient goals and create a care plan, which may include improving coping skills and stress management.

Afterwards, patients receive individualized treatment and if necessary, consult with a psychiatrist. A therapist is available to help determine the most optimal care plan.

Behavioral medicine services are available at Atlantic Rehabilitation, Morristown Medical Center, Newton Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center outpatient services.
