Wait times represent the average estimated length of time from registration to being assigned a "first provider" (a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant). Times displayed for Atlantic Health Systems are:

  • Reported as an average of wait times for the previous 2 hours of patients that have presented to the emergency department and have been seen by a provider
  • Refreshed at least every 15 minutes

Many circumstances can affect wait times - for example, patients arriving by ambulance or with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Patients with severe conditions will be seen before those with less-serious problems or ailments. These times are provided for informational purposes only and cannot be guaranteed upon arrival.

Bioness for Upper Extremities

The Bioness H200 Wireless system delivers low-level electrical stimulation to activate the nerves that control the muscles in the hand and forearm, helping individuals regain freedom and independence.  At Atlantic Rehabilitation, we often prescribe this device for patients who have suffered a stroke, brain injury or spinal cord injury or have other disorders of the central nervous system that cause functional impairments of the upper limbs.

Bioness works by supporting the wrist in a functioning position, allowing the fingers and thumb to move efficiently while reaching, grasping and pinching. It is often combined with functional exercises to increase hand function and range of motion, reduce muscle spasms, improve blood circulation, prevent muscle loss, and reeducate and strengthen muscles.
