Adult volunteer positions at Morristown Medical Center are available in the main hospital, Goryeb Children's Hospital, Carol G. Simon Cancer Center and Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute.

2024 Summer Volunteer Program for Adult Volunteers

Morristown Medical Center offers a non-clinical summer volunteer program for students interested in a future healthcare profession. Students may volunteer as Emergency Room Ambassadors or as Call Bell Support Volunteers. In these exciting roles, the volunteer provides non-clinical assistance to patients under the direction of the clinical team. Volunteers may serve in our emergency department or our inpatient cardiac unit.

To participate in the summer program, the student must be 18, a high school graduate, commit to giving a minimum of 50 service hours, and attend the mandatory orientation. If you cannot commit to the program’s requirements, we ask that you refrain from applying to the program.

We invite you to apply by April 15, 2024. Please note the “Summer Volunteer Program” on your application. We will not accept applications for the summer program after April 15, 2024.

Note: The volunteer department does not offer assignments where volunteers may intern or shadow our physicians, nurses, or other clinical staff.

Teams are invited to take part in Soothing Paws Program after a secondary evaluation of the handler and their therapy dog to ensure the right fit for them in meeting specific criteria for our clinical environments.
