Soothing Paws® Program
– The Soothing Paws® Program supports Atlantic Health Systems’ Healing Culture by providing emotional comfort, improving physical well-being, and enhancing the spiritual well-being of our patients and employees through visits with therapy dogs. Soothing Paws Program for Animal-assisted activities (AAA) (sometimes called "pet therapy") provides an opportunity to volunteer in partnership with your registered therapy animal to motivate and comfort patients and staff at our AHS facilities. Volunteers for Soothing Paws must be registered and in good standing with one of two local therapy dog organizations. Teams are invited to take part in Soothing Paws Program after a secondary evaluation of the handler and their therapy dog to ensure the right fit for them in meeting specific criteria for our clinical environments. For more information about volunteering for the Soothing Paws Program, please contact Carol Plantamura at or call 973-971-5941.
Waiting Room Volunteer
– provide and enhance an excellent visitor and patient experience for our cardiac and surgical patients and their family members, caregivers, and friends
