Rotations

Morristown Medical Center’s Emergency Medicine Services (EMS) Fellowship consists of the following rotations:

Two Week Rotation

Clinical and Field Exposure 
  • Three MICU ground shifts 
  • One air shift 
  • One specialty care transport unit (SCTU) shift
  • One physician response vehicle shift 
  • One communication center and patient transfer center shadow shift 
Education and Administrative Exposure 
  • Attendance at weekly Friday fellowship didactic sessions
    • Presentation of topic of interest on second week of rotation 
  • Attendance at weekly Wednesday emergency medicine residency conference 
  • Attendance at monthly medical oversight board meeting*
  • Attendance at monthly quality assurance meeting*
  • Attendance at monthly Journal Club*
  • Attendance at monthly ‘Cases and Cocktails’*

Participation in any other EMS associated meetings or events (mass gathering/tactical etc.) that happen to overlap with your rotation.

*If overlaps with your time on rotation.

Four Week Rotation

Clinical and Field Exposure 
  • Five MICU ground shifts 
  • Two air shifts and one specialty care transport unit (SCTU) shift 
  • Three physician response vehicle shifts 
  • One communication center and patient transfer center shadow shift 
  • Three emergency medicine clinical shifts with EMS attending
Education/Administrative Exposure 
  • Attendance at Friday fellowship didactic sessions
    • Presentation of topic of interest on second week of rotation
    • Presentation of QA/QI project on fourth week of rotation 
  • Attendance at weekly Wednesday EM residency conference 
  • Attendance at monthly medical oversight board meeting 
  • Attendance at monthly quality assurance meeting 
  • Attendance at monthly Journal Club 
  • Attendance at monthly ‘Cases and Cocktails’ QA/QI project with abstract write-up 

Participation in any other EMS associated meetings or events (mass gathering/tactical etc.) that happen to overlap with your rotation.
