Chilton Medical Center named number one hospital in NJ with less than 350 beds
 

MARCH 30, 2023, Morristown – Atlantic Health System’s medical centers continue to lead the way when it comes to hospital reputation in New Jersey, according to the latest ranking from renowned health care research and information company, Castle Connolly.

Morristown Medical Center and Chilton Medical Center continue their streaks ranked number one in the state on their respective lists of the “Top Hospital Overall,” published annually in Jersey’s Best magazine. This is the fifth year out of the last six Morristown has ranked number one, and the eighth consecutive year Chilton has earned the top spot. Visit Jersey’s Best website to see the entire list.

Overlook Medical Center in Summit moved up four spots to number seven on the list of more than 350 beds, while Goryeb Children’s Hospital (fifth) and Hackettstown Medical Center (13th) again placed on the list of less than 350 beds. Atlantic Health System partner, CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, is ranked number four (more than 350 beds).

All results are based on the votes of more than 1,200 physicians and reflect Atlantic Health System’s strong reputation among physicians across the state.

Castle Connolly also ranked performance in a variety of specialties: breast cancer, congestive heart failure, coronary artery bypass surgery, high risk pregnancy and birth, hip and knee replacement, neurological disorders, pain management, prostate cancer, stroke, and pediatric cancer.

  • Morristown Medical Center ranked first or second place for all treatment categories
  • Chilton Medical Center ranked in the top three in each category (less than 350 beds).
  • Overlook Medical Center increased its position in numerous condition rankings (more than 350 beds), including fourth in care of breast cancer and pain management.
  • Hackettstown Medical Center earned a place on all specialty lists (less than 350 beds).
  • Newton Medical Center ranked among top hospitals (less than 350 beds) for treating prostate cancer.
  • CentraState Medical Center earned rankings (more than 350 beds) in all specialty categories, including third for breast cancer, congestive heart failure, and high-risk pregnancy and birth.
