Promoting the wellness of our residents in order to combat physician burnout is a critical part of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Morristown Medical Center. Our residency program is committed to ensuring our residents feel well-supported during their time with us. A few specific initiatives are listed below:
- Dedicated social committee with annual funding for monthly resident events such as kayaking, bowling, local dinners, and weekend trips. We also have an annual fall foliage hike to the Delaware Water Gap
- Celebrating resident birthdays monthly with food and snacks in our main conference room
- Weekly wellness afternoons during ambulatory block to give our residents time to focus on well-being and to attend personal appointments
Diversity and Inclusion
We value and promote a diverse and inclusive residency program and we make sure qualified trainees from all backgrounds are welcome and supported. In 2022, we created a Women In Medicine committee and our program faculty are actively working with recruitment to ensure we attract diverse candidates for the program.
