Morristown Medical Center Orthopedic Trauma Attending Named “Attending of the Year”

Morristown, NJ – Anthony Spinnickie, MD, Co-Director of Education and Research for Morristown Medical Center’s orthopedics department and a trauma attending was recognized with the Attending of the Year Award from Jersey City Orthopedic Surgery Residents at their graduation.

Dr. Spinnickie received the award for his outstanding teaching ability and efforts made to teach the residents during their orthopedic rotation on Morristown Medical Center’s orthopedic trauma service.

“Dr. Spinnickie has made a tremendous effort towards the education of our residents,” said Dr. John Yingling, an orthopedic surgery resident. “His ability to stimulate passion for the field while emphasizing the importance of a well-balanced life is contagious. He is an integral part of our education as future physicians and educators and is truly a gift to the field of orthopaedic trauma.”

The Orthopedic Oncology program performs limb-sparing surgeries for patients with bone tumors or sarcomas.

For children with orthopaedic needs, orthopedists collaborate with pediatricians from Goryeb Children’s Hospital in all aspects of care, including state-of-the-art diagnostics, surgical treatment and assistive technology.
