Having a child with heart disease can be stressful for families. To help them cope, the Children’s Heart Center offers a support group and fun, educational events:
Pediatric Cardiology Parent Support Group
Families with children up to four years old with heart conditions can meet to discuss family life and coping mechanisms. Registration is not required.
First Monday of every month, 6:30 to 7:30pm

Annual Family Picnic
Patients of the Children’s Heart Center at Goryeb Children’s Hospital at Morristown Medical Center, their families and friends can come together in early September for an afternoon of fun and food. Activities include crafts, relay races, a petting zoo and more.

National Congenital Cardiac Defect Awareness Day
Children with cardiovascular illnesses and their families can learn more about pediatric heart disorders by viewing a walk-in model of the heart and talking with health educators. Additional entertainment for kids includes a magic show, clowns, crafts, face painting, balloons and more.
