Videofluoroscopic Swallow Study

Videofluoroscopic swallow study is a test that determines if a patient has dysphagia, or a swallowing disorder. It is performed by an Atlantic Rehabilitation speech-language pathologist and a radiologist, who make recommendations about diet modifications and swallowing treatments based on the results.

The videofluoroscopic swallow study is conducted in the radiology department of the hospital, located on the fourth floor. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment to allow time to complete the registration process.

  • Chilton Medical Center is now providing outpatient Medical Imaging services, Monday through Saturday, on a regular basis. Appointments have been spaced apart to ensure social distancing, registrations will be completed remotely, and visitor restrictions are currently in effect. Medical Imaging procedures may be scheduled by calling our Call Center at 855 862 2778 . Direct inquiries or questions may be addressed by calling the Department at 973 831 5227. The East Entrance at Chilton Medical Center is now open for walk-in X-Rays Monday through Friday from 7am to 7pm and Saturdays 7am to 3pm.
