Wait times represent the average estimated length of time from registration to being assigned a "first provider" (a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant). Times displayed for Atlantic Health Systems are:

  • Reported as an average of wait times for the previous 2 hours of patients that have presented to the emergency department and have been seen by a provider
  • Refreshed at least every 15 minutes

Many circumstances can affect wait times - for example, patients arriving by ambulance or with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Patients with severe conditions will be seen before those with less-serious problems or ailments. These times are provided for informational purposes only and cannot be guaranteed upon arrival.

Spine Treatment

At Atlantic Health System’s Spine Care Program, orthopedists and neurologists collaborate to offer spine, neck and back pain solutions that achieve the longest-lasting results with the least amount of invasiveness.

Treatment is personalized to each patient and in many cases, pain can be eliminated with physical rehabilitation, integrative medicine and medication. In some cases, however, surgery may be required.

Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery

Morristown Medical Center, Overlook Medical Center and Chilton Medical Center use the latest minimally invasive spine (MIS) surgical techniques, like the O-arm® Intra-operative Imaging System and the StealthStation® Surgical Navigation System. The highly-precise imaging offered by this technology, coupled with the use of flexible surgical instruments, helps our surgeons avoid touching sensitive areas, such as the spinal cord, and improves outcomes. Patients can typically expect less blood loss and tissue damage and a faster recovery.
