What is an Athletic Training Residency Program?

CAATE defines the mission of a post-professional athletic training residency to advance the preparation of an athletic training practitioner through a planned program of clinical and didactic education in a specialized area utilizing an evidence-based approach to enhance patient care.

Who can apply to the Atlantic Sports Health Athletic Training Residency Program?

An athletic trainer who wants to advance their professional abilities in the specialty of orthopedics and meets the eligibility requirements.  New graduates are also encouraged to apply.

What is the salary and benefits for the resident? 

As a full-time employee of Atlantic Health System, the resident will receive a competitive resident’s salary as well as the following benefits:

Will I be able to supplement my salary? 

Residents will have the opportunity for overtime in the form of covering per diem events for Atlantic Sports Health.

Does Atlantic Health provide any housing or transportation? 

Atlantic Health does not provide assistance with housing or transportation. Having access to a car is required to travel from site to site.

What is the length of the Atlantic Health Athletic Training Residency Program?

The residency will be 12 months in length.
