Each year, in the United States, more people die of lung cancer than any other cancer. An additional 16,000 new cases of esophageal cancer are also diagnosed each year. The earlier a patient is diagnosed with a thoracic cancer, the better the patient’s chances of recovery.

Atlantic Health System Cancer Care's Multidisciplinary Thoracic Tumor Program provides state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment services for disorders of the lung, mediastinum, pleura, esophagus and chest wall. Our comprehensive approach to lung cancer treatment integrates surgeons and specialists in pulmonary rehabilitation, pathology, radiology, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, radiosurgery and palliative medicine. Our thoracic oncology services are coordinated by a nurse navigator who helps guide every patient’s diagnosis and treatment, working with the patient and family to keep everyone educated and informed at all times.
