Wait times represent the average estimated length of time from registration to being assigned a "first provider" (a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant). Times displayed for Atlantic Health Systems are:

  • Reported as an average of wait times for the previous 2 hours of patients that have presented to the emergency department and have been seen by a provider
  • Refreshed at least every 15 minutes

Many circumstances can affect wait times - for example, patients arriving by ambulance or with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Patients with severe conditions will be seen before those with less-serious problems or ailments. These times are provided for informational purposes only and cannot be guaranteed upon arrival.

Pulmonary Diagnostic Tests and Treatments

When it comes to pulmonary, or respiratory conditions, no two patients are the same. For instance, those who experience shortness of breath with only mild exercise may not have a medical condition, while others with serious lung diseases may never have trouble breathing.

At Atlantic Respiratory Institute, we can identify if a patient’s respiratory symptoms are the result of something as basic as an allergy or as complex as lung cancer. Our program features state-of-the-art treatment and board-certified pulmonologists to help restore breathing capacity and improve quality of life.

In addition, Atlantic Health System has a medical school affiliation with the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, so our respiratory patients have access to cutting-edge clinical trials and new treatment and medications.
