Out of an abundance of caution, and to protect the health and safety of our patients, communities, and health care professionals due to growing health concerns regarding Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), Atlantic Health System is canceling all in-person community classes, support groups, and meetings at our medical centers and facilities until further notice.
Select elective procedures rescheduled
Atlantic Health System is selectively rescheduling our high-risk populations that are planning an elective procedure and rescheduling other procedures considered to be low urgency as part of our ongoing efforts to protect the health and well-being of our patients and team members and manage our resources and capacity to care for patients with COVID-19.
At this time, all elective procedures are being reviewed for necessity, including but not limited to non-emergent joint replacements, bariatric procedures, non-emergent cardiac procedures, non-emergent interventional vascular procedures and other non-emergent procedures.
Following the CDC guidelines, and in consultation with the patients’ physicians, high-risk patients are likely to be over 65 years of age and/or patients that have certain health conditions.
There are also some areas that are considered very low urgency and will be rescheduled for all patients. This includes all cosmetic plastic surgeries, all screening colonoscopies, all screening mammograms and all non-emergent dental work.
Scheduling offices will proactively reach out to all patients to confirm or reschedule their procedures. All patients will be screened and cleared the night before procedures for risk factors.
