Atlantic Health System Named a Modern Healthcare Best Place to Work For Second Year in a Row

May 29, 2019

Morristown, NJ – Atlantic Health System’s almost 17,000 team members have helped the health care system once again be named to the list of Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare, an honor bestowed on the top employers in health care nationwide. This is the second year in a row that Atlantic Health System, the only health care company from New Jersey to make the list, has been selected for inclusion in this elite group.

The Modern Healthcare accolade is just the latest honor for Atlantic Health System’s award-winning workplace culture. Earlier this year Atlantic Health was named, for the eleventh consecutive year, to Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list, along with Fortune’s Best Workplace in Health Care and BioPharma list, and each of its medical centers were given environmental sustainability awards from Practice Greenhealth. In addition, Atlantic Health’s medical centers have earned recognitions for clinical excellence from organizations including Newsweek, U.S. News and World Report, Healthgrades, the Leapfrog Group, Becker’s Hospital Review and Castle Connolly.

“We congratulate the Best Places to Work in Healthcare honorees for going above and beyond to create fulfilling environments for the nation’s professional caregivers,” said Aurora Aguilar, editor of Modern Healthcare.

“Every day, our team members bring their best selves to work so that they can provide extraordinary caring for our patients, our communities and each other,” said Nikki Sumpter, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Atlantic Health System. “At Atlantic Health System, we’re focused on caring for the caregiver, which is why we give our team members an engaging workplace that’s fun, innovative and supports their well-being. It’s exciting to be named to Modern Healthcare’s list of Best Places to Work in Healthcare because this accolade is based on the views of our team members.”

Modern Healthcare, in partnership with the Best Companies Group, employs a multilayer assessment process when making its choices for the list of Best Places to Work in Healthcare. It includes an extensive employee survey covering leadership, culture, training, work environment, pay and benefits, among other areas, to identify and recognize companies that truly stand out in the healthcare space.

The 2019 Best Places to Work in Healthcare awards gala will be held in Dallas in September, and the complete, ranked list of winners will be announced at the event.
