Representing every pediatric medical and surgical subspecialty, our nationally-known academic faculty of more than 100 physicians is involved in an abundance of ongoing clinical research and publications and is dedicated to the education of our residents.
Our pediatric hospitalist division is an integral component of the resident training program, providing both supervision of patient care and education in general pediatric inpatient medicine. The division of general pediatrics is dedicated to the training of residents in ambulatory pediatrics. In addition, more than 200 private general pediatricians have active pediatric practices in our referral area. Many of these pediatricians provide on-site learning opportunities for residents in a private practice setting.
Overall, the faculty is regularly involved in resident education, from curriculum development to subspecialty rotations. Individual subspecialists and generalists provide direct one-on-one mentorship for residents who express an interest in a particular career. The department annually produces more than 40 publications, including original articles, books, chapters and monographs. Residents frequently hold substantial roles as co-investigators, first authors and presenters in the work of Goryeb Children's Hospital faculty.
The staff physicians at Goryeb Children’s Hospital hold faculty appointments at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
