President, Overlook Medical Center and Vice President, Atlantic Health System
Alan Lieber has served as the President of Overlook Medical Center and Vice President of Atlantic Health System since 2003. During that time, Overlook has dramatically improved its clinical outcomes and hospital acquired infection rates.
Under Mr. Lieber’s leadership, clinical centers of excellence have been established and nationally recognized, including the Atlantic Neuroscience Institute; the Brain Tumor Center of New Jersey; a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center; a Level IV Epilepsy Center; the Center for Concussion Care and Physical Rehabilitation; Wound Care Center; The Institute for Rheumatology and Autoimmune Diseases; and the Adolescent Eating Disorders Program.
Mr. Lieber serves on several Boards including the Gateway Chamber of Commerce, of which he is the immediate past chairman; the Atlantic Health System Accountable Care Organization; and the Cornell University Sloan Alumni Association.
Mr. Lieber was instrumental in the launch of the physician-led Optimus Accountable Care Organization, of which Atlantic Health System is a member, and which has produced the highest scores in physician quality and the greatest savings for Medicare in New Jersey.
Mr. Lieber received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from Cornell University, where he studied Operations Research and Industrial Engineering for his undergraduate degree and Hospital Administration and Finance for his Master of Business Administration degrees.
