Maureen Schneider, PhD, MBA, RN, is President of Chilton Medical Center and Senior Vice President at Atlantic Health System. Schneider’s leadership allows for Chilton Medical Center to provide advanced and personalized patient care to the local community in a healing environment. She has dedicated her career to improving health care and leading her team of caregivers with a patient centered vision focused on delivering the best results and experiences. Most recently under Schneider’s guidance, Chilton Medical Center was once again ranked the top hospital in the state with less than 350 bed by Castle Connolly in Jersey Best magazine’s annual ranking as well as named a High Performing Hospital by U.S. News & World Report in multiple specialties. Chilton was also awarded its tenth consecutive “A” hospital safety grade; its’ highest by The Leapfrog Group, and its’ second national Leapfrog Award for Top 250 hospitals, the national Beacon Critical Care Award, the Emergency Department Lantern Award and several Healthgrades awards.

Schneider joined Chilton Medical Center in 2014 as Chief Nurse & Operations Officer. As an integral part of Chilton’s leadership team, Schneider maintained clinical, financial, and operational responsibilities for all inpatient, outpatient, and clinical services for the 260-bed community hospital. She led Chilton Medical Center to achieve Magnet® Accreditation Recognition for Nursing Excellence in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, as well as two other healthcare organizations in 2003 and 2011. Schneider previously held several healthcare executive leadership positions in New York and New Jersey before joining Atlantic Health.

After stepping in as interim president in November 2021, Schneider led the Chilton team with the dedication and vision she has exemplified since joining Atlantic Health System. Through her strong leadership, resilience, and commitment, she has worked collaboratively to elevate quality, enhance the patient experience and ensure Chilton's success and forward momentum.

Schneider is a sought-after national consultant and adjunct professor in RN – BSN, DNP/Ph.D./ and MBA programs, a mentor in the Mentor Program for the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the board of several health care organizations including Seton Hall University and Monmouth University Advisory Councils, CentraState Medical Center, Springpoint Life, and is the former Chair of the Board of Trustees for Springpoint Life, President of Executive Women of New Jersey and former board member of the New Jersey Organization of Nurse Leaders.

Schneider received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Hunter College-Bellevue School of Nursing, an MBA from Monmouth University, and a doctorate from Seton Hall University, she is certified in Advanced Nursing Administration, Quality Healthcare, is a Fellow in the College of Healthcare Executives, and is a Johnson and Johnson Executive Wharton Fellow.

Schneider holds an adjunct faculty position at Seton Hall University teaching doctoral and graduate business and leadership/management and undergraduate students, along with being an accomplished author, coach, presenter, and executive/ leadership mentor. She is a recipient of the Governor’s Award for Nursing, a NJ Biz Top 50 Women in Business Award, a DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award and was nationally named as one of 2022 Becker’s Top 66 CNO’s. Schneider was also recognized by ROI Influencers: Women in Business and in Becker’s 177 Women Hospital Presidents to Know.
