Wait times represent the average estimated length of time from registration to being assigned a "first provider" (a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant). Times displayed for Atlantic Health Systems are:

  • Reported as an average of wait times for the previous 2 hours of patients that have presented to the emergency department and have been seen by a provider
  • Refreshed at least every 15 minutes

Many circumstances can affect wait times - for example, patients arriving by ambulance or with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Patients with severe conditions will be seen before those with less-serious problems or ailments. These times are provided for informational purposes only and cannot be guaranteed upon arrival.

Concussion Rehabilitation

Concussions are the result of head trauma that immediately disrupts normal brain functioning, resulting in symptoms that may include headache, dizziness, loss of short term memory, nausea and vomiting. At Atlantic Rehabilitation, we provide adults and children with post-concussion rehabilitation services that can be tailored to individual needs, depending upon the severity of the condition.

During treatment, our medical team of physical therapists, physicians and athletic trainers carefully monitors the patient’s heart rate and blood pressure, as well as the status of their symptoms and recovery progress. Neuropsychological testing may be required.  In the case of athletes, we’ll closely follow their recovery to ensure that they resume competition only when it's safe to do so.
